About Hope

When I was an 8-year-old girl in Hartford, Connecticut, my cousin visited from Hollywood. She arrived in a fabulous mink stole, an ever so stylish hat and of course, golden high heels.  I stood staring in amazement as I had never seen anyone so elegant up close.  She must have noticed my expression and generously offered me to try it all on.  As you can see by the photograph, I stood there with pride.

Fast forward to when I became an adult living in Los Angeles.  I was working as a professional costumer, rummaging through the racks and aisles at Paramount Studios’ wardrobe department.  Looking for a period piece, I came upon a beautiful fabric that caught my eye. I pulled it out to admire and saw, attached to the sleeve, an original tag reading LANA TURNER – including her sizes! I still recall the rush of excitement knowing that the design of this piece drew her character into the direction she needed to go.

I’ve been a professional costumer and stylist for over 35 years and decided it was time to concentrate on my passion which has always been Vintage.  I am now offering my curated racks filled with treasures to hunt and gather for yourselves.  Be it a full ensemble or a special piece to enhance what you already have, I welcome you to my store to bring the past into the present.
